For High Schoolers

Here is a list of different tracks you can choose for the High School camp at MFUGE.  We will be staying in New Orleans this year.  Everyone attending camp needs to pick their top three choices. Everyone needs  to pick something that they enjoy doing, but also pick something that is a little challenging.  Each track has its challenges.  I encourage everyone to pick something more social.  Painting, Construction and Yardwork, is a great ministry, but this track is not for mature Christians.  This is usually for students who are not good at sharing their faith, so unless you feel God calling you to this ministry, try not to sign up for this track.

Children’s Ministry
This ministry track involves working with children in a variety of settings including: Vacation Bible Schools,
Backyard Bible Clubs, Day Camps, and other site-specific work with children. The purpose of this track is to minister to children, providing your students with the opportunity to teach and lead children through Bible
stories, games, crafts, and music.
Social Ministry
This ministry track provides students a variety of ministry opportunities for meeting the physical, emotional,
mental, and spiritual needs of people. Students in this track my minister in: mentally/physically handicapped
centers, homeless shelters, soup kitchens, food banks, clothing closets, furniture distribution centers, refugee
ministries, prison ministries, Baptist Centers, Salvation Army Sites, and other community organizations with
similar purposes. Students will work both directly with people in the community as well as behind the scenes.
Painting, Construction, and Yard Work Ministry
Students in this track will spend their time doing light construction work, roofing, repairing, cleaning, painting, and yard work. These tracks work with various organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and local housing authorities to meet the physical needs of churches, schools, families and individuals.
Creative Ministry
This ministry track uses the gifts and abilities of students to minister through drama, interpretive movement,
puppets, clowning, singing, and other ministry performances. Students in this track will spend their week
traveling to nursing homes, children’s centers, residential homes, beaches, parks, and other places where they will be able to minister creatively.
Games and Recreation Ministry
This ministry track is designed to help students use their athletic ability and willing hearts to share the gospel
through sportsmanship and Christ-like attitudes. These tracks are located in children’s centers or homes,
apartment complexes, and boys and girls clubs.
Peer Ministry
This ministry track is offered in Nashville and New Orleans and is designed to train students to minister to their peers. This track will focus directly on students’ ministering to other students through opportunities of service and building relationships. Throughout the week students may work in a variety of ministry settings, such as foster homes, teen centers, community centers, etc. Students need to have completed 10th, 11th or 12th grade.
Evangelism Ministry
This track is designed to give students an opportunity to share their faith with people in the community. The
track will work in populated areas and will engage people in conversation through handing out refreshments,
organizing activities, playing music, etc. Students may also partner with local churches to pass out flyers and
prayer walk as part of church planting efforts.
