Check this band out!

This band is called - All Sons and Daughters.  I've put up one of their songs up earlier this year.  Here is another great song by them.

I've also attached the lyrics.

There was a day we held our breath
And felt the sting of bitter death
When all our hopes were buried in the grave
Our eyes awake our hearts were torn
Between our faith and what we knew
Before our king was buried in the grave

And grace was in the tension
Of everything we've lost
Standing empty handed
Shattered by the cross

All we had
All we had
Was a promise like a thread
Holding us keeping us
Oh from fraying at the edge
All we knew
All we knew
Was you said you'd come again
You'd rise up from the dead

There was a day we looked for proof
That you had risen from the tomb
And all our doubts began to roll away
We touched the scars upon your hands
You kept your word
Oh son of man
You buried death by taking on the grave

You came here to save us
Cuz everything was lost
No longer empty handed
Clinging to the cross

All we had
All we had
Was a promise like a thread
Holding us
Keeping us
From fraying at the edge
All we knew
All we knew
Was you said you'd come again
You'd rise up from the dead

It is is won
It is done

All we have
All we have
Is the promise like a thread
Holding us keeping us
Oh from fraying at the edge
All we know
All we know
Is you said you'd come again
You rose up from the dead

Winter Weekend - 3 part event!

I hope you all are enjoying your time with your family. We have talked about this weekend event for a couple of weeks now, but I wanted to give you all some details concerning the Progressive Dinner/ Overnighter/ MAC Missions. It's a three part event that will be tons of fun.

Tomorrow, December 28th, we will be meeting at the Lighthouse at 6pm. Please be on time so we can have plenty of time to travel house to house.

We will be travelling to three different locations enjoying appetizers, a main course, and a dessert.

After our bellies are full, we will go to two different houses and spend the night. The guys will spend the night at the Setters, and the girls will spend the night at the Brown's. We are okay to stay up, HOWEVER, we will NEED TO SLEEP at some point in the night because...

We will be leaving the houses at 10am to go do a service project at the Moore Activity Center, in Covington, KY. We will be serving the center from 10:30-2:30.

Our goal is to be back to the Lighthouse by 3pm on Saturday.

You will NOT need any money for this event.

If you are not able to attend part of this event, don't worry! Feel free to come to as much as you can. We are providing a lot, because we know that the days after Christmas can start to run a little slow, and you may not be able to see your friends as much.

If you have any questions, just e-mail, text, or call me.

Caroling tomorrow - CANCELLED

Tomorrow's caroling extravaganza has been cancelled.  The latest weather report has it raining most of the late afternoon and evening, which was when we were going to carol.  Please pass the word along to any and all of our friends!

Please Watch!

Christmas Time Is Here!

Christmas festivities are upon us now!

We have many things happening this month.  Each week this month we will have a little something "extra" for our Wednesday night services.

This Wednesday is the Church's Holiday Dinner.

In the weeks to follow we will have our "Dress as your favorite Christmas character contest" and our annual "Ugly Christmas Sweater" Contest.  We are going to expand it this year.  We are asking people to wear anything tacky.  So if you were given a tie, or a shirt, or earrings that you only wear once a year, bring them in.

We've also added a few new things this month.  We will be caroling throughout different neighborhoods.  We will also be having a mission project at the MAC in Covington.

Check the calendar.  We'll soon have a calendar of the next 6 months.

We know that your month will be crazy at times and really boring, so we are going to offer as much as we can to help you through the boring times of December.
