Camp Service

This Sunday, July 20th we are going to have a camp service.  We won't take the whole morning service.  We will share the awesome experiences we had while at Jonathan Creek.

If you attended camp you should remember when I asked you guys to think of something where God is "greater than".  Be prepared to share in a couple of words (1-5 words) a way that God is greater than something you are struggling with.  You will share it with the church on Sunday morning.  It won't be long so don't worry if you get nervous.

Make sure you wear your camp shirt on Sunday morning!

Tons of things for you to do!

July 16th - Lake Cleanup Day - We are once again going to be cleaning up the lake.  Our goal is to cut down more brush and remove a good portion of the duckweed.  We will be working from 4-8pm.  Dinner will be provided.  We'll also have a message as well.  Meet at the Lighthouse!  If you can't come until later, NO PROBLEM!  Wear long pants and close toed shoes!  Adults are welcomed and encouraged to attend.

July 23rd - Neighborhood Day - We are going to be canvasing a the Hartland Neighborhood.  We will be passing out information of an upcoming Park and Kickball event we will be holding there the next week.  We'll be handing out flyers, putting up signs, and letting as many people know about the event as possible.  This will be from 6-8pm.  I NEED ADULTS TO HEAD THIS UP!  I will taking our children's ministry to Cedarmore Kid's Camp that day so I will not be able to lead this.  You can meet at my house at 5:45pm.

July 30th - Park and Kickball Day - As many of you may remember, we've attempted this before but the weather did not agree with us.  Our goal is to have a neighborhood park and kickball day for the younger kids in the Hartland Subdivision.  We'll have some giveaway snacks (maybe popcorn, ice cream, or snow cones?).  This will be for ages birth to 12/13.  We will be playing with the younger kids at the park (maybe face painting?) and will be playing kickball with the older kids.  We need parents for this ministry as well.  We'll set up at 5, and start the event at 6pm, and be done by 8pm.  While neighborhood parents bring their kids to this event, it would be great to have Oak Ridge parents there to start conversations with them and hopefully invite them to church.

Summer Fun

School's out and the next thing on our plate is summer activities.

We will be having an end of the school year party next Wednesday, June 4th.  We'll be grilling out, eating ice cream, playing games, and having a worship service.  Bring a friend to this time of celebration.  The party starts at 4:00pm, with worship starting at 7pm.

Camp! -  July 6-11th.  At Jonathan Creek.  You may signup for camp at the following link - https://mail.crossingsministries.org/dandy2/Participant/Login - This will let your parents fill out your medical release form, and all you to fill out your activities (POI's).

Camp is $300 this year.  Do not let the cost be a reason for you not attending camp.  We have had two successful fundraisers this year that have lowered it considerably.  For you to get the fundraising money you need to sign up SOON.

Tell your friends about camp, we still have plenty of spots open!

GO! Ministries!

We are starting a brand new ministry on March 26th!

We will be going on weekly field trips during the 7pm hour of our Wednesday nights.  During those times we will be visiting local areas (Cherokee Plaza, Taylor Mill/Remke's area).  We want to do weekly outreach ministries for local people and businesses.

Our goal in all of this is to show students that ministry and missions are not a week retreat but a lifestyle.  Through small acts of love we will be able to share and plants Gospel seeds into the hearts of our local people.

Because we are going off campus and changing our Wednesday night program we will be needing permission from each parent for their child to attend this new ministry.  Tomorrow we will have permission slips available for students to bring to their parents.
