Orange Schedule

We now have our ORANGE Schedule finalized.  To find the material you will be helping out with, just lick your name.  A document will come up which will explain exactly what will be happening that week.  If you haven't signed up but still would like to help, let Bro. Thom know ASAP.

Text Message Ministry

We are starting a new accountability/uplifting ministry. 
Every school day we will text message out a scripture.
If you would like to receive that daily text of scripture, we will have a sign up sheet today during "The Point".

New Wednesday Nights

Starting this Wednesday, August 22nd we will be starting a new Wednesday program.

After much prayer and consideration we have decided to cancel our afterschool program.  If it looks like we need to bring it back we can always do that but for right now we will be cancelling it until further notice.

Youth Choir will still have at 6pm in the Sanctuary.  I encourage all of you to be a part of this ministry.

The Point will now be in the Lighthouse at 7pm.  The doors will open at 6pm so if you would like to come early you may, and when you get out of choir you can come on over to the Lighthouse.

We will have drinks and snacks upstairs.  This is NOT a meal.  We are expecting you all to eat before you come to church.  We will have good snacks but if we start to see students using this as their dinner we'll have to take the snacks away.

The Point will start at 7:05.  At the time the upstairs snacks/drinks will be shut down and everyone will need to have finished eating/drinking before they enter "The Point".

As most of you have already seen The Point looks more like a worship service.  We have more music and preaching.  We've opened up time before and after to hang out, play games, and eat.

Orange - Youth Help

We are starting a new children's ministry on September 9th.  One of the exciting aspects of this ministry is that youth will be able to help out.

The children's church time will now go the entire hour.  Children grades 1-5 will be meeting in the upstairs of the children's department from 11-12 on Sunday mornings.

Here is where the youth will fit in...

We need helpers that will assist in children's church.  These helpers will help run the tech equipment, as well as help out with skits and leading worship.

We only need 1-2 youth every week.  We are also instituting a rule that youth are only able to help out with children's church 1 out of every 4 weeks (the other three weeks you will be in the main church service).

So if you would like to help out with skits, setting up/tearing down, running sound/video equipment we will have a signup sheet available this Wednesday during the point. 

Give Me Faith

There are many times in our life when having faith in God is so easy.  But there also many times when doubt seems to run throughout our life.

Our faith in Christ will help shape the decisions we make.  If we trust God, we will follow what He tells us to do.

How much do you trust God?

Back to School - In the Pool!

This Wednesday is our annual back to school party. 

The pool party goes from 5-8pm on Wednesday.  We will have The Point at 7pm at the pool.

We'll have games, food, and a good time of fellowship/storytelling to start off the new school year.

The party is at the Setters' house.  If you need directions, call the church (363-4363) or ask another youth.

If you attend youth, this would be a great thing to invite your friends to!  We would love to see some new faces!

Let's get ready...

Tonight in The Point, we talked about no longer living as a dead person.  We talked about how we need to "kill" our sin on a daily basis and put on good things.

Here were the two lists that were made.  One is a list of things we should get rid on a daily basis and one is a list of EVERYTHING we should put on everyday.

Copy and paste, print out, do whatever you can to remind yourself.  School is starting back.  Let's live each day not for ourselves but to glorify our Maker.  Read Colossians 3.  Why do we live like we are dead when we've been given life?

Orange Luncheon!

We are having a meeting after church this Sunday (August 6th) about our new Children's Ministry Strategy - Orange!

The youth are encouraged to attend this meeting as well.  There will be many opportunities for you all to be a part of this new ministry.  Please invite friends and families to this (especially if they have children in grades K-5).

The meeting should last a little over an hour.  We will have food at this event!
