Youth Savings Account

This is something new we are trying this year when it comes to field trips, activities, and camp.  We know that for several families money is very tight these days.  We want to give students incentives to attend and participate in our youth activities.

We are creating a "Youth Savings Account".  In this account a student can deposit money for later use like camp, an outing to a restaurant or a weekend trip that requires money.

A student can also earn money in a variety of ways.  Attendance will be a big way to earn money in your savings account.  We have three separate times that you can earn money by just showing up and taking the class.  They are:

Friday Afternoon Financial Peace for Youth - At the Lighthouse we will be discussing finances and how God views worth.  There will be 11 sessions.  If you attend 8 of these sessions you will earn $50 toward your savings account.

SHARP Groups on Wednesdays - There are 23 Wednesdays for you to attend between now and the end of the school year.  If you attend 18 of these Wednesdays you will receive $50 towards your savings account.

Sunday School/Sunday Service - There are 25 Sundays for you to attend between now and the end of the school year.  If you attend to 22 of these Sundays you will receive $50 towards your savings account.

If you attend all 3 of these that's $150 in your savings account which is half of the cost for camp.

There will also be fundraisers and other things that could be put into your savings account.

For every friend you bring to church you can earn $5 into your savings account.

We are doing this to help you invest in yourself.  Most of you don't have jobs, and this will give you an opportunity to earn money towards the events we have this year.
