Guy's Camping Trip

Our guy's camping trip is November 1-3rd.  Most of you have already gotten the information from Matt and Chad.

We are working right now on transportation.

If you would like to invite your friends to this, let us know so we can have a good number on the amount of supplies needed.

Children's Fall Festival

On Sunday NIGHT, October 27th the children will be having their annual Fall Festival at church.  This will be at 6pm in the children's department.  We would love to have you guys help out with this event.  We will have different fun activities and games stations that we need run.
At the end of the hour we will have a special worship service and message.

You are invited to wear costumes to the fall festival.  I do ask that if you plan on wearing one that it is appropriate.  Even if they are fake, we are asking that anything that looks like a weapon (knife, gun, etc.) not be taken to the fall festival.

Youth Halloween Ministry

This year for Halloween we will be once again having our outreach ministry.  We will be in my subdivision (Hartland - By the Independence Cemetery).  This subdivision will see hundreds of children and parents.  We will be passing out hotdogs, hot chocolate, and apple cider.

Even with the rain last year we saw a large turnout, so expect more this year.  I believe we gave out more than 150 hotdogs, and over 10 gallons of hot chocolate and apple cider.

This will go from 6-8:30 - On Halloween night (Thursday, October 31st).

This is an event that would be great for you to invite your friends to.  We will need lots of people to canvas the neighborhood passing out food and drinks.  We will also need people to stay at our house so we can pass out the food to the trick-or-treaters.

After its over we will have a Bible study at my house and give out some awards for best costume.  Because this is a ministry we are again asking for modest, and appropriate costumes.  We will be representing the church and would not want to cause a stumbling block for someone.

Pack a Car Day

You may have already seen this in the bulletin but I wanted to encourage each of you to push yourselves on this particular day.  On Sunday, October 27th we are asking the entire church to fill their cars with people.
So many of you have friends that don't go to church on a regular basis.  This would be such an amazing and easy opportunity to invite them to church.  Try to work it out with your parents so that they could pick them up to go to church on Sunday morning.
This will take some sacrifice.  You'll have to invite them sooner than later, and you will probably have to wake up early so that you can pick them up and be on time for Sunday School.  But even with that, you are able to introduce your friend to your church, the Bride of Christ.

Afterschool Program

What are you doing this Wednesday afterschool?

Watch some T.V.?  Get online?  Stare at a wall?

Our afterschool program is starting this Wednesday!

We'll pick you up at your school and drive you to church.  From there you can work on homework, hang out with friends, play games, and even learn something (i.e. guitar lesson).

It goes from 3:30 - 6:30pm.

We'll also be cooking as a group each Wednesday.  You'll learn how to use a working kitchen to make a good meal for your family.

One of the best parts about this program is that it is absolutely free!  The whole kit and caboodle won't cost you one cent.

The only thing we need is a signed permission slip.  You can get one of these from a youth at Oak Ridge or online at the top of the screen.

At 6:30pm our youth worship service will start at the Lighthouse.  It will go until 8pm.
